Hanna Herzog is professor of Sociology at Tel Aviv University. She co-directs with Prof. Naomi Chazan the Center for Women in the Public Sphere (WIPS) at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute. In 2006-2012 she was academic director of the Civil Society cluster at the Institute. She holds a PhD degree from Tel Aviv University, was head of the Department of Sociology (1999-2001) and served as the Head of the Society and Politics Program at the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Jaffo (1994-2005). Herzog is one of the founders of the Women and Gender Studies Program at Tel Aviv University and one of the authors of “The Gender Index: Gender Inequality in Israel.
