Pam Buchanek is the newest addition to the NCJWA Vic team and we are excited to have her.
Let's get to know her better...
What connects you to the NCJWA Vic Mission?
I am so happy to be here. It feels as if I’ve come home. I am connected to the NCJWA Vic Mission on many levels. I am strongly committed to this organisation, which advocates unconditionally for women regardless of their background, and is inclusive of all women. Creating, encouraging and maintaining programs that support women at various stages of our lives gives relevancy, continuity and respect to women. The ongoing contribution to the empowerment of Israeli women is also extremely important to me.
What do you hope to contribute to NCJWA Vic?
I am very motivated to support women. I hope that my warmth, caring, and dedication will be demonstrated within the NCJWA Vic family and all those I come in contact with, whether it’s face-to-face, via telephone or email. I bring my passion, extensive experience and motivation to my role as the Caring Mums Project Admin Assistant and in the broader context of NCJWA Vic. I am excited to be working in a team, all of whom are exceptionally skilled, professional, dynamic l and caring women.
Which Jewish female leader inspires you and why?
As a contemporary Jewish female leader, Ruth Bader-Ginsburg is an inspiring standout. She was such a trailblazer in her profession and as the sole woman Justice of the US Supreme Court. RBG advocated for women’s rights and gender equality with indefatigable, dignity and humility. I would have loved to have met her. However, I wish to add that I strongly believe that every woman is a leader in her own right, constantly juggling different roles in their lives, under a variety of circumstances. I find all women inspiring.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, my husband Michael and I spend time with our gorgeous daughters, their wonderful partners and our grandson, who is a recent and precious addition to our family. As an avid walker, I am sure I will bump into many of you walking around the local parks! In the evenings, I have begun knitting beanies for those in need.
Welcome to the family Pam! We are happy to have you and look forward to working together.
