OUR PROGRAMSTo achieve our mission, we currently run the following programs and activities: The Caring Mums program is a confidential, non- denominational, free service providing emotional support to mothers of newborn babies and pregnant women. The program matches trained volunteers, all of whom are mothers themselves, to new mums with the goal of developing a secure trusting relationship in order to provide emotional support. The Jam Project pairs Year 9 (age 14-16) Jewish girls with a buddy between 21-28 years old. Our buddies, young, accomplished, determined and motivated women who are engaged in the community will stand as role models for teenage girls during a pivotal and formative time of their lives. The Jam Project aims to empower teenage girls, provide them with a sense of independence, confidence and motivation. We want young girls in our community to embrace their unique qualities, to follow their dreams and to one day be future role models! Support for the Elderly NCJWA Vic offers a set of programs for seniors which encourages social interaction, improves health and provides inspiring experiences for participants. These programs include The Seniors and Bridge Clubs where we offer games, exercise classes, special entertainment and meals, and the Golden Age Clubs for seniors from the former Soviet Union, where they are offered discussion groups, visits to different places of interest and a way to connect to their Jewish heritage through celebration of festivals.
