VISION

Inspired by Jewish values, NCJWA(Vic) aspires to create a better world for women.

MISSION

We achieve this through our work in the Jewish and broader communities by:

  • ·        providing support to vulnerable women;
  • ·        working to advance the status of women;
  • ·        promoting a harmonious multicultural society; and
  • ·        supporting projects in Israel.

FIVE YEAR GOALS

PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES

1.   Support for Vulnerable Women

We will provide an expanded range of high quality programs and activities based on community needs across different stages of women’s lives.

2.   Advance the Status of Women

We will identify opportunities to advance the status of women in the Jewish and general community through advocacy, program delivery and increased involvement of membership.

3.   Promote a Harmonious Multicultural Society 

We will promote a harmonious multi-cultural and multi-faith society through interaction with women of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds.

4.   Support  Projects in Israel

We will support projects in Israel that are aligned to our mission, and engage with our project partners to obtain synergies from our relationship.

Support  for Vulnerable Women

We will provide an expanded range of high quality programs and activities based on community needs across different stages of  women’s lives.

  • ·      Identify the needs and interests of all women with a focus on younger women.
  • ·      Establish key criteria to guide in the establishment and maintenance of new and existing programs and activities based on identified need.
  • ·      Develop programs and activities for vulnerable women (and men where appropriate) to extend our impact.
  • ·      Create an implementation plan for programs and activities.
  • ·      Establish an evaluation framework for all programs and activities.
  • ·      Conduct periodic external evaluations on signature programs.
  • ·      Increase in total number of program participants (where appropriate).
  • ·      Quality and impact of programs – number of participants reporting positive impact.
  • ·      No of new programs filling identified gaps in the community.

Improving the status of women

We will identify opportunities to improve the status of women in the Jewish and general community through advocacy, program delivery, and increased involvement of membership.

  • ·      Seek resources to identify and implement advocacy opportunities and program delivery.
  • ·      Develop and participate in activities that address current concerns regarding the status of women both locally and internationally (family violence, mentoring, leadership, gender equality, employment, human rights, trafficking, agunah).
  • ·      Engage a broad range of age demographics in our targeted activities.
  • ·      Establish an evaluation framework to assess the progress of our activities in this area.
  • ·    Number of individuals participating in advocacy activities.
  • ·    Advocacy impact-campaign specific.
  • ·    Number of programs/activities.

Harmonious Multicultural Society

We will promote a harmonious multi-cultural and multi-faith society through interaction with women of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds.

  • ·      Establish key criteria for evaluating our programs and activities.
  • ·      Identify areas where we can extend the range, quality and effectiveness of our multicultural and multi-faith programs.
  • ·    Quality of events/activities – participant satisfaction rating.

Support our Projects in Israel

We will support projects in Israel that are aligned to our mission, and engage with our project partners to obtain synergies from our relationship.

  • ·      Provide input into National decision making process
  • ·      Meet all financial targets for financial support.
  • ·      Identify areas where we can leverage from our projects in Israel.
  • ·    Achievement of fundraising targets – 100%.
  • ·    Synergies achieved.

Financial Sustainability:

We will secure our future and growth based on a sustainable financial model.

·      Establish Development Sub-Committee and develop targets and strategies for funding growth that reflect a comprehensive and co-ordinated approach to fundraising.

·      Determine our longer term position regarding the NCJWA Foundation and take relevant action.

  • ·      Determine future of Oppe Shoppe and implement relevant action.

·      Develop plan for building assets to reflect our strategic direction and future accommodation requirements.

·      Determine funding requirements for building plan and develop and implement capital raising plan.

·      Determine funding requirements for staffing and operating for the next five years.

  • ·             Growth of revenue stream.

  • ·             Rate of return on total assets.

Internal Capacity:

We will ensure we are a vibrant and strong organisation, with competent staff and volunteers, supported through engaged membership, suitable infrastructure, and sound policies and processes.

·       Develop and implement a comprehensive suite of HR policies and procedures covering all aspects of employment, which encourage a positive workplace culture.

·       Strengthen the process for effective recruitment and management of volunteers.

·       Upgrade administrative systems, procedures and processes.

  • ·       Ensure infrastructure in place to support productive work environment and effective program delivery.
  • ·        Staff satisfaction.

  • ·        Growth in volunteer numbers.

We will ensure a competent and skilled Board to deliver on the strategic goals of the organisation.

·         Realign governance & volunteer structure to reflect the new strategic priorities and ensure that all portfolio areas of NCJWA (Vic) are appropriately resourced and Terms of Reference updated.
