February 2023

The NCJWA Vic Connect program offers a suite of activities for seniors and mature-aged people. The program is designed to provide a safe and inviting atmosphere encouraging connection and engagement with others. All of the offerings create an avenue to meeting new people, connect with the community and participate in a range of different activities.

The Seniors Club
This club operates every Wednesday from 10am with a team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. Participants and volunteers meet and rotate through different activities, enjoying board games - Rummy tiles, Red Aces and Bingo, exercise classes and special entertainment. Morning tea and lunch are provided.

Golden Age Club
In partnership with Jewish Care, funded by The Claims Conference, we support Holocaust survivors and war veterans from the former Soviet Onion.

This Russian-speaking program hosts activities in local community centres. It offers members a place to celebrate Jewish festivals throughout the year, engage in light exercise and stimulating activities, and meet and connect with other Jewish community members.

Books Out Loud
Do you enjoy reading? Do you love getting lost in a good book for hours on end?

Books Out Loud is a program for those in aged care homes. Each week, a volunteer visits to read stories to a small group – and engage in lively discussions about the literature. It’s a positive way to build your social connections while fostering your love of reading.

Crafternoons - NEW
One of our newest programs as part of Connect – CRAFTERNOONS. Come along with a craft project you’re currently working on, we will supply the company and some lunch. Crafternoons will take place every Wednesday starting March 1st at the Theador Herzl Club.

Brain Food Book Club - NEW
New in 2023 is our multigenerational book club! Starting on February 9th  at 9.30am, we will meet every second Thursday each month and discuss interesting and varied topics.
