On March 8 we celebrated International Womens Day - a day when women are recognised for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.
NCJWA Vic commends Mizrachi for participating with forum facilitators to deliver a report on, amongst other things, female participation within the organisation. We encourage Mizrachi to heed the feedback and strive for greater diversity at a leadership level.
Thank you, The Australian Jewish News, for following up on your investigation “which uncovered alarming experiences of gender inequality and harassment in Jewish organisations”. This important article highlighted our work in the Gender Equality space – in particular our Gender Equality Pledge and the #MakeSpaceForHer campaign.
Acknowledgement of Traditional Owners NCJWA Vic would like to acknowledge the Boon Wurrung and the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations and all traditional owners of the land that is Australia. We recognise the traditional owners' continuing connection to the land, waterways and community. We pay respect to Elders past and present, and we acknowledge their stories, traditions and living cultures. As Jewish women, we specifically honour and acknowledge First Nations’ women who, like our matriarchs, are strong, brave, determined and resilient.
