The Melbourne Hebrew Congregation, led by Rabbi Shlomo Nathanson, conducted a special event to commemorate this year’s Yom Hashoah.

NCJWA Vic CEO Lisa Ezekiel and Golden Age Club Holocaust Survivors attended the ceremony, which was beautiful and moving. One of our long-standing supporters Nina Bassat told her remarkable story, while treasurer Josh Frydenberg shared the narrative of his wife’s parents. 

All of the speakers shared a common thought while reflecting on the Shoah, one that is more important than ever: do not be indifferent to hate. As Eli Wiesel aptly said, “There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.”
