We are honoured to present our newly-elected President, Helen Lewin. Helen was elected by the NCJWA Vic members at our Annual General Meeting, held earlier tonight. “I'm very excited to be leading the NCJWA VIC with a Board of dedicated, passionate women and continuing the growth of the association by powering women and girls for a better world, connecting with the community, delivering innovative programs and events, and advocating for women and gender equality”.
Helen joined the Board in 2016 and was the Secretary of NCJWA Vic. With qualifications in law and more than 25 years’ experience in law, privacy practice and corporate compliance, Helen brings a breadth of perspectives to dealing with privacy protection and information governance issues. Formerly, Deputy Privacy Commissioner (Victoria), and Chief Privacy Officer and Head of Corporate Compliance at Telstra Corporation, Helen now works as a lawyer and privacy consultant.
Like other board members, Helen is passionate about the advancement of women and girls in the Jewish and broader communities.

Acknowledgement of Traditional Owners
NCJWA Vic would like to acknowledge the Boon Wurrung and the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations and all traditional owners of the land that is Australia. We recognise the traditional owners' continuing connection to the land, waterways and community. We pay respect to Elders past and present, and we acknowledge their stories, traditions and living cultures. As Jewish women, we specifically honour and acknowledge First Nations’ women who, like our matriarchs, are strong, brave, determined and resilient.
